Declared capacity is what a plant could produce and nobody outside can check it. Volume shipped on a named programme is what a plant does produce, and the customer’s own production figures put a floor under it. ZINGEAR ships over 20 million units a year into one microwave oven line, from the Huizhou plant. Ask any supplier for the second kind of number.

Either way, a capacity figure doesn’t tell you where your order sits in the queue. Ask what share of a production line your quantity occupies and who else is on that line.
